Florida Outdoors

  1. Why is Florida Outdoors a restricted site?
  2. What\’s the deal with the invite codes?
  3. Can I help?

Question: Why is Florida Outdoors a restricted site?

Answer:

Florida Outdoors is a site, dedicated to Florida\’s Wildlife and the photographers documenting it.
It\’s goal is to provide information to this particular network of people. We want to keep Spammers and Scammers out of it.
Of course we could use a public venue and spend a lot of time weeding this elements out.
We however think, that using a peer vetting system get\’s the audience in that we want to address.
Especially since most of us know or at least heard of each other and keeping this chain of referrals will make Florida Outdoors a safer site than most.

Question: What\’s the deal with the invite codes?

Answer:

Well – after all, we want to get users on the site. In order to have some form of control on who will join – members can invite their peeps, using an invite code, that Florida Outdoors provides.
You can request invite codes, using our Contact form with the Subject \”Invite Codes\”.
Without these codes no user can register.
So our members themselves decide, who they want to have on this site.

Question: Can I help?

Answer:

You betcha!
For one – help promote Florida Outdoors!
Secondly – you can contribute Articles – like Location and Gear reviews, Tips and Tricks and whatever you think this community might be interested in.
And last – but not least – help us out with suggestions and critique. Inform us of bugs and problems,
so that we can fix them.
